Circus

Three persons enter into their characters. They represent all the colors there can be to make up a piece  of image. And they also everything, every complexity that makes up our world. They are the visions that we cannot cross beyond, courses or ends that we cannot foresee. Numberless of us being inside of it, like rings circling around, like fire transforming energy, at last end up as who we are.

I see boats passing by the harbor, but never pulled in to shore. I see loved ones parting along the journey, but can only carry on. I see the eventide scattering into twilight, but the sun rises on a new land. There in the cloudy sea appeared one stretch of clear water. The sunken history once again emerging at the surface like a pearl. The stranger traveled through oceans and woods, arrived at its side. An unsetting sun rose up at the east horizon

The painting Jugglery of Refining, describes a magic trick, which turns an incomplete rotten apple into a whole apple. The meaning of it is in life we often meet circumstances that are unpleasant, but turning them into something good is what we may choose to do. By doing it we might find out the magic of life. The way is in our hands, hidden, waiting for us to discover.

Circus was a series I made in 2012. I made up three characters with the three-primary colors and they came together within scenes of a circus show which represents life. Each painting is related to my understanding of life, by then, at the age of 20.

I was wondering so much about destiny and such. In the fall, during a family trip we passed through Las Vegas, a giant poster of Cirque du Soleil caught my eyes, a series named Circus started to form in my head.
